Hornets fall to Chapman at Fulmer Classic

REDLANDS, Calif. – The Lyndon women's basketball team fell to 0-2 on the season with an n 83-46 loss to Chapman in the second round of the Lee Fulmer Classic held at the University of the Redlands.

The Panthers (2-0) were led by Sandra Gao's 21 points, 11 rebounds and three assists while teammate Kimi Takaoka added 16 points, five steals and four assists.

Natalia Ebrahimian had 17 points and 10 rebounds off the bench for the winners.

Chapman opened a 14-point halftime lead before blowing the game open in the second half on 60 percent shooting from the floor. The Hornets struggled in second half, hitting less than 20 percent of its shot attempts.

Chelsea Bagley (Wallingford, Vt.) had a team-high 15 points for Lyndon and Emily Gray (Quincy, Mass.) chipped in 13 points and two steals. Marley Harmon (Buxton, Maine) had five rebounds to lead the Hornets and Chelsea Watson (Eliot, Maine) had four assists and three steals.
