Wateville, ME - Lyndon State College women's basketball players Mikayla Hodge (Newbury, VT) and Faith Poirier (Portsmouth, NH) swept North Atlantic Conference honors for the week ending January 21st. Hodge, a senior sport management major, was named NAC Player of the Week for the second time this season. Poirier, a freshman elementary education major, was named NAC Rookie of the Week for the first time.
Hodge had an incredible week, as she averaged 31.5 points, 19 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and one steal per game. In a tough 62-52 loss to Maine Maritime Academy, Hodge posted 23 points, 11 rebounds, three assists and one steal. Then in a big 89-83 double-overtime win over Husson University, the center tallied a career-high 40 points and 27 rebounds, 24 of which came from the defensive end. She also posted two assists, one steal and one block in the six-point win. Hodge has now recorded a double double in all 16 games this season.
Poirier averaged 14.5 points, two rebounds, and one assist in a 1-1 week for the Hornets. The rookie netted 12 points and gathered two rebounds, while shooting 66.7 percent (4-of-6) from the field in a 10-point loss to Maine Maritime. In Lyndon's 89-83 double-overtime win over Husson, the guard posted a career-high 17 points, to go along with two rebounds and two assists.

Hodge, Poirier, and the Hornets will return to action on Tuesday evening when they travel to New England College. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 pm.
