CASTLETON, Vt. – The Lyndon State College women's soccer team had a tough night under the lights at Castleton University, dropping the North Atlantic Conference match-up 13-0.
Izzy Hutnak was the game's top performer, netting her first career hat trick as well as a pair of assists for a grand total of eight points. Shelby McLenithan and Eva Clark had two goals apiece in the win, and Clark chipped in with an assist of her own. Six other Spartans scored goals in the contest.
The Spartans posted six goals in the first half before adding seven more in the second.
Johanna Sargent (West Brookfield, Vt.) was busy all night in goal, making many brilliant diving saves, finishing with a total of 16 saves in the loss for the Hornets.
Jessica Binkowski and Emma Parent split time in net for the Spartans.
Lyndon (2-5-1, 0-2-1 NAC) host Maine Maritime on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
Castleton (2-5-3, 1-1-1 NAC) travel to Green Mountain for a 3:30 p.m. start.
