WATERVILLE, Maine – The Lyndon State College women's soccer team was defeated 6-0 by Thomas College Saturday afternoon in North Atlantic Conference play.
The Terriers opened the scoring in the 10th minute of the first half as Camille Filloramo (Rochester, Mass. / Old Rochester) settled a corner kick from Lauren Pelletier (Bath, Maine) and beat Hornet keeper Johanna Sargent (West Brookfield, Vt.). Julia Smith increased the Terrier lead in the 19th minute as she ran up the left side alone and tucked a shot inside left post. Two minutes later, Smith sent a crossing pass through box that found Makenzie Carlow (Winslow, Maine) who finished the scoring at 3-0 for the half.
In the 55th minute, Pelletier carried the ball from midfield and stormed past the Lyndon defense, beating the keeper low right to push the Lead to 4-0. Filloramo notched her second goal four minutes later on a goal assisted by Carlow. Filloramo completed the hat-trick in the final minutes to bring the final to 6-0.
Sargent finished the game with 20 saves in net for the Hornets.
Paige Leary (Palermo, Maine) earned the win in goal for the Terriers, making one save in the shutout.
The Hornets (2-10-1, 0-7-1 NAC) host Johnson State College Saturday, October 22 at 12:00 p.m. for Senior Day.
The Terriers' next game will be on Saturday, October 22, as they host NAC opponent New England College in a 1:00 p.m. match.
