Bangor, ME - Husson University scored early and often and went on to defeat the Lyndon State College women's soccer team, 11-0, on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles received four goals from Leah Hibbard (Portsmouth, RI), three from Morgan Carver (Gardiner, ME), and two from Taylor Fortin (Goffstown, NH).
Husson dominated play throughout, outshooting Lyndon 36-3. Hornet goalkeepers Johanna Sargent (Randolph, VT) and Victoria McCormack (East Lyme, CT) combined for 15 saves, while Husson keepers Sami Ireland (Howland, ME) and Jordyn Hopkins (Limestone, ME) were only called upon to make two saves.
Husson improves to 4-4 on the season, 3-1 in North Atlantic Conference play, while Lyndon falls to 0-7-1 and 0-3-1 in conference. The Hornets complete their Maine roadtrip tomorrow at Maine Maritime Academy, while Husson will host Johnson State College.
