Plattsburgh, NY - The Northern Vermont University-Lyndon women's tennis team was swept by SUNY Plattsburgh, 9-0, in a non-conferene matchup on Sunday afternoon. With the win the Cardinals improve to 4-1 on the season while the Hornets are winless in three starts.
Plattsburgh started fast by sweeping all three doubles matches, 8-0. The Cardinals continued to dominate the match when it moved to singles play. Lyndon's Melissa Calabro (New Canaan, CT) was the only Hornet to capture more than one game, as she fell 6-1, 6-2 to Plattsburgh's Dominique Moran in fourth singles.
The Hornets are scheduled to return to the court on Tuesday when they will host NVU-Johnson at 3:30 pm on the Dudley Bell Tennis Center courts. That match will be the first North Atlantic Conference contest of the season and will also be a part of the President's Cup Challenge.
