Bangor, ME - The Northern Vermont University-Lyndon women's tennis team was unable to complete the sweep on the second day of their Maine swing, as they fell to Husson University in a non-conference matchup. The Hornets, who were coming off of their first win of the season yesterday at Thomas College, fell to 1-5 on the season. The Eagles move to 3-0 on the campaign.
Husson swept through all three double flights and all six singles flights, as the Hornets were unable to capture any more than one game in any of the nine matches. Lyndon only managed a total of four games won on the day, one each by Savannah Jackson (Barre, VT) and Faibe Achinda (Hinesburg, VT) in 1st Doubles, Oo Mai Be (Winooski, VT) and Susmita Mangar (Winooski, VT) in 3rd Doubles, Achinda in 2nd Singles, and Erica Hayakawa (Fukuoka, Japan) in 3rd Singles.
The Hornets return to the courts on Thursday afternoon when they host Plymouth State University at the Dudley Bell Tennis Center. Match time is 3:30 pm.
