Waterville, ME - Northern Vermont University-Lyndon women's tennis player Roze Yar (Winooski, VT) has been named to the 2018 North Atlantic Conference Women's Tennis Sportsmanship Team as voted on by conference coaches and announced on Thursday. Yar, a junior pshchology major, was the only Hornet to receive NAC honors.
Yar is in her third season as a Hornet. She primarily competed at fourth and fifth singles and second doubles this season.
The NAC Sportsmanship Team is reserved for those who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior. The honorees are individuals who have positively affected the women's tennis culture and match environment and whose behavior clearly demonstrates sportsmanship and integrity that goes beyond the tennis playing rules and etiquette.

Lyndon finished the regular season with a 2-8 overall record and a 1-3 mark in NAC play. The Hornets are the #4 seed in the NAC Championship Tournament and will face top seed Husson University on Saturday morning at 12:00 pm at the Berkshire Athletic Club in Pittsfield, MA. This will mark Lyndon's first post-season appearance since 2013. The winner of the Lyndon-Husson match will face the winner of the first semi-final between #2 Lesley University and #3 NVU-Johnson for the NAC Championship later Saturday. The winner of the tournament will earn a bid to the NCAA Division III National Tournament.
