Zosia Prince sets a new school record in the 800 meter run

Manchester, NH - The Northern Vermont University-Lyndon women's track & field team competed at the Penmen Relays at Southern New Hampshire University on Saturday.  The Hornets finished 23rd out of 28 scored teams with a total of 6 points.  Assumption College outdistanced host Southern New Hampshire for the meet title.

Abby Salvadore (Portsmouth, NH) placed 3rd in the Javelin throw with a mark of 39.05 meters.

Jessica Hillman (Gardiner, ME) competed in the 100 Meter Hurdles and Long Jump.  In the Hurdles, she ran 18.34 seconds, finishing in 40th place.  In the Long Jump, she placed 32nd with a mark of 4.27 meters.

Zosia Prince (Sutton, VT) ran the Mile and the 800 Meter Run.  She ran 5:54.45 in the Mile, finishing in 23rd place.  In the 800, she broke her own school record with a time of 2:41.47 wnd finished in 33rd place.

Hornet head coach Hayden Bunnell saw progress in his athletes.  "Abby made a huge jump in the Javelin today, and we hope to keep building on that.  Jessica and Zosia did well today too, but like Abby, they still have a lot more to show and I will hope to see that next week at Trinity."

The Hornets will compete in the Trinity College Invitational next Saturday.  The meet will begin at 10:00 am
