Hillman and Prince battle the elements to set school records

Hartford, CT - The Northern Vermont University-Lyndon Women's Track & Field Team competed at the Trinity College Invitational on Saturday.  The meet did not have team scoring.

Jessica Hillman (Gardiner, ME) broke her own school record in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 17.42 seconds, finishing in third place.  She also finished fourth in the Long Jump with a mark of 4.01 meters.

Zosia Prince (Sutton, VT) broke her own school record in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 20:58.48, good for second place.

Hornet head coach Hayden Bunnell remarked "It was not good conditions with the rain and wind, but Jessica did excellent in the hurdles and Zosia ran pretty well, but I think she can improve a lot more and I hope to see that next week."

The Hornets will compete in the North Atlantic Conference Championships next weekend.  The meet will be a combined meet with the Great Northeast Athletic Conference and the New England Collegiate Conference, and will be hosted by Regis College.  The meet will begin on Saturday afternoon at 3:00 pm and will continue on Sunday at 10:00 am.
