JOHNSON, Vt. - Lyndon collected its third win of the season overall Tuesday by defeating Johnson State 3-2. The Hornets won by set scores of 25-21, 22-25, 25-22, 23-25 and 15-8. With the victory, the Hornets improve to 3-7 while the Badgers fall to 2-9 overall.
The Badgers and the Hornets rallied back and forth from the beginning with Johnson's offense posting 41 kills, 15 of which came from Breanna Laughlin, Lyndon amassed 42 kills with Abbey Greene (Exeter, R.I.) collecting a team-high 15.
Greene also had five assists, three service aces and 22 digs while teammate Gwyneth Stahl (Whitinsville, Mass.) collected nine kills, two assists, two service aces, 13 digs and two blocks. Joy Piper (Belmont, N.H.) had six kills in the victory while Ashley Barski (St. Johnsbury, Vt.) had three assists and 13 digs.
Laughlin had 10 assists and 14 digs in the contest and Domonique Carter-Stanley had a match-high 31 digs.
Lyndon will host Me.-Presque Isle and Green Mountain on Saturday. The Hornets will battle the Owls at 12 p.m. before taking on the Eagles in a 4 p.m. matchup.
