Lyndonville, VT - The Northern Vermont University-Lyndon volleyball team suffered a straight set defeat at the hands of Norwich University on Wednesday night. The visiting Cadets dominated the match, winning 25-7, 25-11, 25-9. Norwich improves to 8-11 with the win while Lyndon remains winless in 17 starts.
Norwich setter Emily Oliver led the Cadets, recording 23 assists and six aces. Kathryn Farnum posted seven kills while Julia Schroeder and Jessica Surfus recorded six kills each. Kiya DeWitt (Pittsburg, NH) and Emily Clancy (Durham, CT) each had a pair of kills for the Hornets. Zoe Pierce-Olhson (Gales Ferry, CT) had four assists and Clancy led Lyndon with four digs.
Lyndon returns to action this Saturday at a quad match hosted by Northenr Vermont University-Johnson. At noon the Hornets will face the University of Maine at Presque Isle in a North Atlantic Conference matchup. At 2:00 pm the Hornets and the University of Maine at Fort Kent meet in a non-conference tilt.
