Lyndon women continue to improve

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Lyndon women's cross country team placed 52nd overall at the 2014 NCAA Regional Championship Meet hosted by Williams College.

The Hornets received a strong performance from sophomore Sierra Hargrave (St. Johnsbury, Vt.) who paced the team with a 283rd-place finish in a field of 387 competitors. Her individual finish time was 27:16 over the six-kilometer course.

Hargrave was followed by freshman Rose Wilson (Marshfield, Vt.) and senior Ainsley Nettell (Jaffrey, N.H.) with times of 27:54 and 28:17, respectively. Freshman Libby Start (Randolph, Vt.) and senior Haley Joslyn Middlesex, Vt.) rounded out the scoring for the Hornets with times of 29:16 and 34:17 respectively.

"For a basically inexperienced team, I'm truly please with the team's progress throughout the year and at this very competitive race," said Lyndon Head Coach Chris Ummer. "The ladies improved all year and will continue to next year. Their sights and goals will be much higher in 2015."
