Waterville, ME - Northern Vermont University-Lyndon freshman Zosia Prince (Sutton, VT) has been named the North Atlantic Conference Runner of the Year and Rookie of the Year, as selected by conference coaches and announced by the conference today. Prince was also named to the NAC All-Conference First Team, and was named the Runner and Rookie of the Week for the week ending October 28th.
Prince, a graphic design major, earned these honors on the strength of her performance in Sunday's North Atlantic Conference Championship race. Prince finished in first place, capturing the individual conference title in the process. She completed the 5K course at Troy Howard Middle School in Belfast, ME in 20:49.64, 30 seconds ahead of the next closest finisher.
The NAC honors cap off an outstanding freshman season for Prince, who this week also earned NAC Runner of the Week for the second time and Rookie of the Week for the fourth time. In addition to capturing NAC honors, she also had a top ten finish in the Vermont State Championship meet and has posted some of the best times in the conference week in and week out.
Senior Sarah Levesque (North Smithfield, RI) was named to the NAC Women's Cross Country Sportsmanship Team, an honor reserved for those who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior. Sportsmanship Team honorees are individuals who have positively affected the sport culture and environment and whose behavior clearly demonstrates sportsmanship and integrity. Levesque finished in 38th place at the NAC Championship with a time of 27:45.16.

Prince and Levesque will lead the Hornets into the NCAA Division III New England Regional Championships on November 10th. The race will begin at 11:00 am and be held at Bowdoin College.
