Lyndonville, VT - Northern Vermont University-Lyndon has released its 2019 men's and women's cross country schedule. The Hornets will run in five regular season meets as they build towards the North Atlantic Conference Championships, which will be hosted by Lyndon for the first time since 2011. Hayden Bunnell takes over as the Hornets' head coach this season, after having spent the past four season as an assistant with the program.
The Hornets will open the season at the Colby-Sawyer College Charger Invitational on August 31st.
The following Saturday, September 7th, the Lyndon Cross Country Trail will play host to the NAC Preview Meet. That race is annually held on the same course that will host the conference championships.
The Hornets will then travel to the University of New England Invitational on September 14th. Two weeks later they will compete in the Vermont State Collegiate Meet at Castleton University. The final regular season meet will be the Western New England University Invitational on October 19th.
The Hornets will be looking to contend for both team and individual honors when they host the NAC Championships on November 2nd. Both the men and the women will look to improve on fourth place finishes a year ago, while sophomore Zosia Prince (Sutton, VT) will be looking to defend her individual NAC championship.
The season culminates with the NCAA New England Regional Meet at Bowdoin College on November 16th. The top finishers in the regional meet advance to the NCAA Division III Championships in Louisville, KY.
