Prince opens the season with a top ten finish to lead Hornets at Charger Invite

New London, NH - Zosia Prince, the defending North Atlantic Conference women's cross country champion, opened her season with a top ten finish at today's Charger Invitational, hosted by Colby-Sawyer College.  Prince covered the 5K course in 21:37.48 and finished in eighth place, 1:25 behind race winner Zoe Utton of Colby-Sawyer.  The host Chargers also captured team honors.

Rachel Valentine (Clarksdale, AZ) and Isabelle Tuggle (Norwich, VT) were the Hornets' other two finishers.  Valentine's time was 23:27.14, good for 26th place, while Tuggle finished in 46th place with a time of 26:09.95.

Lyndon head coach Hayden Bunnell commented "I liked the opening of the women's season.  I thought they all had good opening times and I know there will be lots of room for improvement for the end of the season."

The Hornets will host their own NVU-Lyndon Hornet Invitational next Saturday.  The women's race will start at 12:00 noon.
